wheel clearence

Hi there, I'm getting ready to buy wheels for my 56 Chevy p/up following a TCI ifs. install. I took the wheels off my 68 camaro (next project) to use temporarily. These wheels have a 4" backspace which puts the steering ball joint about a quarter inch from the wheel edge.Is this acceptable?
I'm almost ready for a test drive.Thanks.....

As long as you have clearance your fine...a quarter inch is OK.
