wheel hop whoas

hi all i just got the drive shaft in my monte and i tried it out in my drive way and with the line lock on, im getting wheel hop when i start to spin the tires.
i have upper and lower SSM control arms and an air bag on the pass side.
i have 15psi in the bag and im still getting hop.
i thought the air bag would help with the hop but i guess not.
dose anyone know how much air i can put in the bag with out blowing it up.
i think im going to have to buy some no hop bars or traction bars but i was hoping to avoid that.
any tips on the airbag psi and any other info on stopping the hop would be great.
if need be i will get the no hop bars because you cant see them unlike the traction bars that a visable to all.
thanks for any help.
Ken.

I have found that the pinion angle ... contributes to the HOP ...

Have you changed the angle ?

when i bought the car it was set up like this.
i asked the guy i got the car from if he did any thing to the rear end and he said all he did was put the air bag in and new upper and lower control arms.
i had a look under there and nothing is adjustable and it all looks stock.
the control arms are boxed and say SSM bars on them so im thinking i will need a set of no hop bars.
he said it never hoped when it was his.
but it was auto then with a small block.
maybe he couldn't spin them enough to make it hop.
i think im going to get the no hop bars for it and then it will be done.
thanks

air bags

20 lbs is the max. according to the instructions on my air bags. I run them in a 65 gto, mainly for preload on the right rear.

hi all just thought i would let you know how i made out with the wheel hop.
i ordered some traction bars from my local dealer and the would not fit so i took them back.
i talked to the guy i got the car off of and he said he put taller springs in it to fit the N50 15s he had on it.
so then i dug around my parts pile and came up with a set of stock springs from my old monte and i sand blasted them and painted them.
then i pulled out the ones of my car.
and i compared them to my stockers and they where at least 2" taller then the stock springs so i put the stock ones in and my air bag and voila no more wheel hop.
man that makes me feel good.
now i can start having some fun and not worry about braking somthing.
thanks for the tip Deuce and Poncho62 you where right on the money there.
thanks again.
Ken.
