anybody have a 38 ford or similar? Would like to know what size rims and tires you are using. Got a 5 inch dropped axle in front, with lowering blocks in rear. There a lot of combinations would like a few opinions.
Thanks, Denny
It depends on which front axle and rear end you are using. I have a 4" dropped SuperBell axle but is the narrower one for a 33/34 ford. It sets the wheel and tire under the center crown of the front fender. This gives me more tire clearence so I can drop the front end lower. Front wheels and tires are 15x5 steelies w/165-15 tires. I could put a little larger tire on it which would possibly improve the ride a little. I have a 72 nova rear end that measures 61" from axle flange to axle flange. The biggest wheel and tire combo I could fit under it without cutting the fenders is 15x7 steelies w/ 235 70-15 tires. I used the Chassis Engineering rear end kit and added 2 1/2 " lowering blocks.
Hope this helps you .
