Hey, I want a set of vortec heads for my truck. Where is the cheepest place to buy some new complete heads. I saw some on Ebay but I am not sure about that.
I suggest Jim Pace Performance Parts in Youngstown, OH. They carry all GM replacement and performance parts. My best friend got a set of Vortec heads there. They usually have good prices too. Thier website: http://www.paceparts.com

I bought a set from Scoggin Dickey, they were the cheapest. Be sure to use a different spark plug, AC Delco R43LTS, vortec heads need a long reach plug.
Hay billybob I bought a set at scoggin for about $528.00 complete and ready to go. I checked them for straightness and found them to be out about .003 I had them shaved .005. Didn't make any difference on the intake, so you shouldn't have to machine your intake. You will have to get a different intake for the vortec heads.
Now if we could only get them drilled for old style valve covers!!!!!!! <img src="graemlins/mwink.gif" border="0" alt="[mwink]" /> </strong><hr></blockquote>
You can! Well, not drilled, but they do make an adaptor kit to use "Real" Chevy Valve covers on Vortec Heads.
Mhenricds, I don't actually live in Mabank. That is the "big" town closest to where I live. I actually live in Gun Garrel City, Tx. However, Mabank and Gun Barrel City border each other. Anyway, Mabank, and Gun Barrel City are about 45 minutes Southeast on Dallas on HWY 175. I actually live on Cedar Creek Lake.
