Post Where to buy a Converter?

I just got a price on a Torque converter for my 700R4 from the local parts store. For any stall over 2200RPM was $560CDN, I was shocked thats a lot of money I thought. Anybody know where I could get a good price on a converter? I have a adress in the USA I can ship to so even if its in the USA its OK. Thanks for any help.

E-Bay has a couple of reputable convertor vendors that sell 2000-2600 rpm 700R convertors for less than $200.00, I just picked up a lightly used one for $75.00, 2400-2800 stall behind a 406.

Cool I'll have to check that out. What isn't on Ebay? I just got my Nitro powered RC monster truck in last week, off of Ebay. Way too much fun.

A stall converter for your trans with the 'lock up' feature will cost more than one without the lock up. Check outCoan or Hughes for the best converter. TCIis also good. Any reputable converter manufacturer will need to know several things about your vehicle to determine what stall speed you need. What cam you are using is probably the most important. Rear tire size, rear ratio, vehicle weight, other engine modifications and intended use are all important info they will need.
