You may find it hard to find pure phosphoric acid. If you are going to use it for rust conversion you can look for it in your local auto store under various generic names such as rust remover or naval jelly. You might try your local home inprovement stores as well. This is a long shot but try your local yellow pages under phosphoric acid or rust removal or possibly just "acid".

I am trying to coat the inside or a sportster tank with "Tank Cream",and I used all the prep soloution,(Phos acid) on another tank. The tank I want to coat is new,so theres not much rust on the inside, but for the warranty,it needs to be coated.

I got a bottle (maybe 16 oz.) at my local Ace hardware store in the auto section. It was navel jelly.

home depot or lowes

it doesnt matter,I treat all bare metal surfaces with this mixed 50/50 with distilled water. Its cheaper than metal-prep solutions that are more expensive and there maiun ingrediant is guess what? TA_DAphosphoric acid.! Whan you get ready to prime the bare metal wipe down the treated phosph-metal with lacquer thinner or W&G remover dry and paint.I strip cars in stages & to keep em from rusting this is what i do.
