Where can I get spring eye bushings for 46 pickup....
Can anyone tell me where I can locate some replacement front leaf spring bushings for a 46 ford pickup. The originals appear to be brass(?) but Im not sure. Any suggestions on how to remove the original bushings would be helpful too. Thanks very much for any and all input!

Dennis Carpenter http://www.dennis-carpenter.com/ or Bob Drake http://www.bobdrake.com/ are 2 good sources, make sure to get them for the hangers too. Depending how bad they are worn you sometimes need heat to loosen them up and drive them out with a punch and if they are real bad you might have to chisel them out. |

Thanks for the info Jalopy45!
About 20 years ago, I met Bob Drake in person as I was working for his 1st cousin. He was visiting my boss and getting some interior measurements out of a 48 pickup that his cousin owned. I was about 15 years old and when they stopped at my house, I was wearing a Pete&Jakes t-shirt,hehehe. He said "nice shirt, but Ill send you a better one, hehehe" That was cool and he was a really nice guy to a young punk like I was at the time. |
