Where is the center of a 4L60e ?

Where is the centre of gravity (the balanace point) on a 4L60e?

I putting together a pracket to bolt to my trolly jack, and knowing the centre would really help in design when pulling the tranny.

I guess somewhere around here ( red "x"). Right or wrong??

Slightly forward of your X with the torque converter still on.

Slightly rearward without TC installed.

Thanks sparkydog!

Yes that makes sense, the TC with additional tranny fluid is fairly heavy.

I would suggest a proper trans jack or at least strap that trans to the device you are putting together.

A falling trans will break and crush various human body parts

Thanks for the good advice Crosley !
I dont have the luxury of a real tranny jack.

Securing the tranny, i was planning to do that, is heavy duty rope OK? or are chains needed?.

Here is the proposed adaption.
