where to get insurance?
My kit car is about ready for the road but I'm having trouble finding someone that will insure it. It is titled and legal.
It's not a show-car but I also won't be driving it to work every day. Just a weekend cruiser...maybe 3-5k miles/year. Which insurance companies are hot rod friendly? Thanks, Jeff |

Hey Jeff,
Welcome to the board. I'm also a "noob" and had the same question as you. Click here to see the responses. http://hotrodders.com/showthread.php...ight=insurance Also, you may want to review the newbie "rules" - that are posted at the beginning of each of the major sections of this board. I had to learn the hard way myself - but those rules suggest that members always use the search function before asking a question to the whole board. It saves time for you and everyone else. If you've run a search and can't find your answer - then fire away with your question. But once again, from one noob to another, welcome. Dewey

HEY JEFF: Try Haggerty Classic Insurance www.hagerty.com 800-922-4050 fax 231-941-8227. They provide a lot of speciality insurance. I hope that works but if not post a shout as I have a recent copy of Kit Car magazine and there might be an ad in there.....DAVE

I just contacted Hagerty about my 54 dodge. They will allow a couple trips to work on their coverage. Some conditions like a locked garage for storage and must not be your daily driver. Price estimate was $90. I'll probably be calling them tomorrow.
Thanks |
