Where is a good place to buy used 350 turbo transmisions?

Hello guys I am having a hard time trying to find a used good working 350 turbo transmission where I live at in Ohio. I live about 100 miles north east of Columbus and live in a small town about 40 miles north of Zanesville. I got a rebuild kit for one and tore down the one i got at a local scrap yard and it was cracked in the case so its a dud. I called all local junk yards and can not come up with one. Would hate to buy a brand new one for 700 plus cause I paid over 250 for my rebuild kit and would like to use it. Have tried craigslist but did not come up with much. Any help would be appreciated. Dont know if there is any websites to buy from or not.
Thanks
Eric

howdy there eric

craigslist.org

also car-part.com local junkyard search

try those?

should be able to find many

also talk to local racer ppl

and local junk scrap hauling ppl, ordinary ppl like you and me that collect and haul loads of scrap metal and also vehicles to the shredder.

many good engines trannies get wasted every day that could have been bought for cheap from these ppl. if you can pull them fast enough anyways,

put ads up in local grocery store and gas station posting boards as well.

even look around for any old chevy cars trucks vans 70s or 80s years sitting around and obviously not driven for some reason or another for a while with expired plates, or wrecked etc.
and stop and ask or leave a note with oyur number,

you would be surprised what you can score for 100 bucks that might just have a th350 in it with a broken or dead engine in front of it. or some other problem other than the tranny

some ppl do this for a living, i have a billion times and drug home all kinds of vehicles over the years for parts, or to fix and drive, or ot haul to scrap yard, etc, probably over 200 since '94 now.

i know where a good one is right now for 75 bucks from an 85 pickup, in springfield,
and i have a good TH350C from an 81 in the basement but i need to find a gasoline engine style converter for it because it was behind an Olds. diesel 350 engine in the truck, so...

good luck

Another way, go to towing business auctions. Many times you can buy a complete and running vehicle for less than $100.00. Use what you can, part the rest out.

Check with transmission rebuild shops, maybe you can find a case to use with your kit and internals.
