where to mount engine
I have a 39 packard that i put corvette front and rear suspension i was wondering when u mount the engine can i move it back about a foot or should i mount it in stock mount over the corvette to get the right amount of weight on front suspension

Most rods are nose heavy, I would move the engine back and balance springs,sway bars. to get better handling. a lighter front would probably handle better wit a little more castor.

Thanks for the info it just seem to be sitting high in the front but i don't have all ofthe access.mount yet either

Those old cars were heavy, after you are done you might want to change front and rears springs or rates to get stance and ride quality. Back in the day I used a packard overdrive Transmission. in the third roadster I built. all my buddies were breaking the Ford flathead transmissions behind their Caddy, olds or chrysler powered rods. A buddy told me to Find a packard, strong , and heavy, has a synchro on first gear, .. That roadster is still in a corner of the shop , mabe one of my grandkids will do a resto on it.

I'd mount it as far back as possible without making it difficult to work on or intruding into the passenger area.
