where to start for more power
Hey my first post. I recently purchased a 96 F 350 4x4 4 in. lift, with a 460, 5 speed manual, reg. cab, 68,000 miles one owner in pristine shape. the engine is all original, burns little , or no oil, no leaks. The rest of the truck is stock. I plan to use the truck as a daily driver and occasionally pull a 10,000 lb trailer. I would like to increase H.P. and power. Where do I start to get the most result, short of rebuilding the motor, which runs strong. Thanks Bob

I might start with a recurve of the fuel map in that computer. Most factory fuel tunes are pretty rich to help NOx and to prevent mixture-induced detonation.
Not sure, but those heads probably aren't the greatest, and I'll bet the cam is insanely mild, but I'm not really an expert on later 460s. |
