You could get some timing tape.

I THINK this is how it goes on, assuming you have a timing mark on the timing chain cover.

Take the number 1 spark plug out, get the motor to TDC. Then take the tape, put it around the balancer, make sure the TDC mark on the tape is lined up with the timing chain cover, that should do it. Jegs sells it, autozone and those places MIGHT, dont think so though.

The numbers are stamped on the balancer, you'll need to clean it well, as the numbers are usually barely visible.

lost the timing marks

Just curious, what car did you find stick on timing marks? I have seen the ones with the marks on the balancer but not the stick on kind?? Do those fancy balancers use timing tape too?

TDC should have a groove. If the balancer is greasy it will be very hard to see.
