Where is transmission filter located on 2001 Mitsubishi eclipse auto?

I went to the part store, and it is a screw on filter, and I just cannot seem to find it on the tranny! Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

It only tells where the fuel filter is, I already looked on there. Nothing about tranny

Well, I found out that the filter is a screw on, on top of the tranny, and I looked, and there is a spot where it looks like its cast for one, but there is no filter, hole there. I am stumped. any input?

I looked on Rockauto's site and they show a spinon filter and a filter that is inside the trans pan. Maybe you have the internal filter type trans.

call the mitsu dealership, get the parts dept.. if there is 2 options but 1 of them was an early design and not used long, a regular parts store might not have the less popular style..
