wheres the best/cheap place to get a 1946 ford pickup short bed

Im tryin to build a 1946 from the ground up. looked around to restore one but was thinkin it might be better just to buy all new parts n build one how i want to. Any suggestions? should i stick with my plan or should I try to restore one? any websites or catalogs suggestions?

I build pick-up beds from 16ga steel,i can send you a few pics.I cant reproduce the fenders reasonably. So those you would need to buy from a vendor. If you want more info you can pm me.My beds are on par with other vendors and i know im considerably cheaper..cheaper doesnt mean low quality however

1946

u can do what ever u feel comphy with.. but... titling is another story... u just may get a 2013 title and that ain't good.. go buy a junker and make sure the title is clean and vin is attached...
the go for it and buld a new one.. in any case KEEP all receipts of the build.. take pic's along the way.. engine/trans get receipt with the vin on it.. documentation is the key or u get the shaft.

i agree with delawarebill, get a vehicle with a title, register it in your name and then build it.
it is usually cheaper to buy one done than build your own if you have to farm out a lot.
i don't send much out. i build and fab everything but motors and trans
