Unhappy Where's the oil going? Or is it ?

I recently rebuilt a 350 Chevy. All new parts, Oil pump, pickup tube, intermediate steel shaft to replace the plastic one. Motor has about 500 miles on it, plus several race days at the track. Now, no oil pressure at idle, with about 25-30 at 2,000 or above. I've tryed the pump prime with a drill, and get oil all over the primer shaft, the drill bogs down, and pumps oil, but nothing gets to the rocker arms, I've checked the front plugs in the block to see if one popped out, but they are still there. Any ideas would be great. I don't really want to rebuild this whole motor since it really ran good, or at least did run good.

Sounds like you may have had a Cam bearing take a crap or slide. If you have the room, remove the pan, put a large drain pan below, place a bowl of oil over the pickup on the pump, and have a buddy spin the drill, you will quickly see where it is going, you can replace a cam bearing without a complete teardown. I have had it happen, and most always withen 500 miles on the new motor.

Yes, if it were the right one. Usually the very end one near the back.
