White camshaft

I have a 350 and there is a knock in the engine. I was informed that i have a cam that is white and i was asking how this happens. The motor is only 20,000 miles on it.

I suspect that someone told you you have a "Wiped" camshaft.
That means a lobe, or lobes have worn excessively due to excessive valve spring tension, or insufficient lubrication, or both

Or wiped due to improper break in or break in oil without enough ZDDP additive.

the reason i ask i have a 350 and it was replaced about 20,000 miles ago. last week it started to knock in the valves. The only thing i did to the motor was over tighten the rockers studs when the head was pulled off. I was told to tighten one was and it was wrong. I have been driving it for 4 months. Now it knocks when it is drive and i try to increase my speed. The friend said the motor is still under the time to replace. Or do i replace the camshaft my self and go on. Thanks Joe
