White face gauges replacements

White face gauges replacements, does anyone know the differences in the gauge cover replacements that are available for newer car gauges. they sure do very in price from $15 to $160 some with special colored lighting controllers. I want to get a white face gauge kit for my boy 2001 Ranger pu. 2wd. one color is fine. I thing I would want to stay away from stick on stuff but not sure if they all are that type. any experience would be appreciated. all my stuff and his other vehicles are all the old classics. thanks ED

Just as a reference I am using some of the low end stick-ons via ebay. I can get the link to the vendor if you want. I think they will be fine for my purposes.

I did clean the faces and painted them white before applying the faces.

are all of the new faces glue on and what do you think is the difference, some are $15 some are $140.00 what do you get for more money. I have been known to be cheap and in some cases caused me much much more work to work with the cheaper product. If I get cheap poor quality for my boy I will be a laughing stock for the family then again nothing new they love picking on me and I can take it.

Look for an Explorer Sport Trac gauge cluster. They came from the factory in white, and they are Much higher qualilty than the stick on faces that I have seen. You can actually just plug one of those into your dash, all the same plugs.
Later - Karl.

Yeah, factory replacement gauges that are white would be the best bet.

Here is who I used... happy with them myself for my application.

I didn't see anything for an Explorer though.

I put on indglow white faced gauge covers over the gauge cluster on my Honda DelSol when I had it. I bought them off ebay. They were not glued on. When I installed them there was a switch that would turn them from blue to green, but with the lights off. They were again white. The covers just sliped over the old faces. You had to be very careful so that you didn't bend the needles when you sliped the face past the needle. It took me about half an hour after I got the cluster off. Looked darned good when it was done though. Cost a whole lot less buying them off ebay rather than some of the other places.. Al
