White smoke at start up.

I'm getting a white plume of smoke as soon as I start my car. EVERY time I start it.

Any ideas?

78 Caddy DeVille with a BB 425.

white smoke = coolant/antifreeze,,,head gasket, intake gasket, cracked head checked you coolant level lately?

Coolant was low this morning, and I have been having overheating issues now and then.

water is white, oil is blue, gas is black,...smoke, that is .....probabley a head

Hopefully just a head gasket. Do a compression test too.
