Can anybody identify this factory Mopar rearend? Disc brake-equipped, 65 inch(hub to hub),12 bolt cover, leaf spring type, possibly from an early '70s Imperial or Fury. I picked it up at a swap meet awhile back and never used it.Now I want to sell it, but don't know what I have. Is it a Dana 60? Any knowledge would be appreciated.

From your description, this may be a rear from a early '80's Imperial. It is not a Dana 60, and other than the disc break setup, it is not much different than a Volare or Aspen type, with a V-8.

Rick, can you post a pic or email me a pic? I have a Magazine that has a rearend spotters guide-it's been a big help in determining that the rearend under my rod project was a peice of junk! I would just have to see the back of the center...Randy iiwhiplashii@cs.com

A dana 60 has 10 bolts holding rear cover,so it's not a"60" Width is wrong for a big "C"-body Chrys.Mid~80's mopar rears have no place in the hi-po or rod world, just too weak and poor gear selection. Are you sure it's even a mopar ?

This rear IS a Mopar,as it has a pentastar embossed into the top of the center section.I don't believe that it's from a mid-sized car, because it's a beefy sonuvagun, and has 11&1/2 inch rotors with single piston calipers.I look forward to hearing from someone who has a clue about this. The parking brakes are small shoes in the rotor"tophat". Did I mention the bolt pattern is the smaller of the two Chrysler car patterns (5 on 4&1/2)?
