To chrome plate something, it first has to be cleaned, any imperfections filled with compatible metal, and straightened, and polished. All very labor intensive steps.
Then it is copper plated, and polished again, by hand.
Then it is nickel plated, and polished again, by hand.
Then it is chrome plated.

Now, consider the problems of disposing of the toxic chemicals used in the plating process.

All the labor, and overhead costs make affordable chrome plating a thing of the past.

if your still looking for a place, there is a good chrome plater in Addison/Villa Park. Great prices and nice work.
