Who makes high quality headers?

I have a friend who is looking for some headers for his box van . It's a 78 chevy 1 ton with a 400. Usually I just pick up my sanderson catalog but they don't show any headers for that application.

I know that alot of the old good names have gone downhill or overseas. Who makes headers today that you don't have to replace every 2 years? Cost is secondary to quality on this one.

thanks for reading this.

Hooker, Hedman, Sanderson to name a few. If Sanderson does not show them in their catalog give them a call.

I was going to give lovely Donna a call tomorrow. I bet they have something, I was just looking for an alternative reccomendation in case they didn't. thanks Bryan, I will show the QP 1000's (if they will fit per sanderson) to Chuck and see if he likes them. I put a couple of sets of those on novas and I like them.

Is hooker and hedman still good? I wasn't sure. i had some heddmans on my 69 for 15 years and they were great.
Thanks, mikey

Doug Thorley makes them for motor homes, so a 1-ton shouldn't pose a problem. They're a bit pricey, but quality isn't cheap.

Running hedman on mine, good quality is there still. 2 years and the ceramic coating isn't anywhere near flaking off, well.. it cracked a bit where I attempted to heat it up and bend it with a pry bar to clear the lower control arm mount
