My project is a little strange but something I have been on and off of for a few years.
Mercedes OM617 5 cylinder diesel mated to a sbc chev manual trans.
There are adapters out there for $1k but I am doing this from a different approach and want to re drill a blank neutral balanced Flywheel and make a thin adapter between the bell housing and block.
The Mercedes crank has twelve 3/8" bolts and the Chevy has six 7/16 bolts.
I was going to re drill a standard flywheel but would like to start with a blank
steel flywheel. ( see first pic)
*the links above were mostly alum flywheels.. looking for heaviers cast steel
flywheel.
opinions appreciated
The last pic is the desired result... Land Cruiser /Mercedes Motor.
