Why are 66 Chevy parts hard to find and more expensive?

This question has bugged me for a while, maybe someone here can answer it. Maybe it's just me? For example, centerlink, or a dashboard, rain seals. There always seems to be a price markup for '66 specific parts compared to '65 or '67 or any other classic year, for that matter.

Just a shot in the dark here....Did they make less of the 66 than they did 65 or 67...so less of a demand?

I agree

The damand for certain year parts would cost more for those parts for less requested years. The old supply and demand thing bites!!

i haven't noticed any difference in parts from 66 compared to other years, but i wasn't looking for it either. impalas in general have not been a hot item untill recently. so as time goes on more parts will be available and they will probably go down a little in price.
