Why do reported Advertising post stay up so long

I do not get how these new guys to this forum post ads up & then they stay sometimes for days. Even after being reported. I know i am not the only one who sends this info to the mods!

Then someone who helps here all the time answering questions can't even mention their product or they are kicked in the butt by the mods for advertising?

I'm sorry Killer, I didn't mean to sound like you were wrong. What I am saying is these clowns stay here while people who help and mention their product have been lambasted.

Brian) This and the other one have been up all day. getting free time!

Some people have day jobs and might not have access to a computer. I used to become aggravated for the same reason that you are until I noticed that some of he reported posts would get moved/trashed after work hours, eastern time, which is 4 hours earlier than my time. All we can do is keep on reporting violations and let the mods sort it out. Bill

Now before I say anyhting, let me say this first. I understand that a company promoting itself, or advertising is against the forum rules. However if a person has no ties to a company and reports a good experience or product, to my understanding is that is allowed. Correct or incorrect? If not then I have been breaking the rules for a while about SPI and a few otehr things I have recommended. I also understand that it looks bad for someone's first post to be a promotion for a company as it would seem that this person is in someway going to benefit from the promotion or "advertising", but Brian posted that the guy had no ties to the company he was endorsing, so why would his post get deleted? Maybe I missed something? Thanks

Kelly

If you have no ties to the company I think it's OK to say good things about them... We don't like downing a company on the board because there is always two sides to a fight...

Maybe try posting a greeting with a little information about yourself in the introduction forum first and let people get to know who you are and what you do before endorsing a company. If you have no ties and will gain no benefits from the endorsement, as far as I know that is not against the rules. Just looks deceiving for your first post to be an endorsement. There have been a lot of people/companies come in and post advertisments and promotions for their own benefit, so people tend to be a bit proactive about the subject.

Thanks, I was hoping someone would comment on that, I was not looking foward to reading the rules again . I also agree about downing a company, there are a few of those floating around too unless they have been dealt with in the past few minutes. I like how my grandomther put it years ago "there's always three sides to every story, my side, your side, and the truth" Thanks again
