Why was hinge info request dumped?

I posted yesterday, asking for replies about Hagan and Rocky hinges, and it was dumped?

I also posted in Body-Exterior forum.
There are DIFFERENT GROUPS OF PEOPLE that frequent different forums with different experience.

Example: I have NEVER gone into the brake forum, yet I have experience with several kit manufacturers, should someone ask. If left soley to the brake forums, they would never benefit from MY experience.

Well, I predict you will get over it... eventually. With the proper therapy and rehabilitation you may return to a semi normal lifestyle... some side effects include but are not limited to...

Sorry, I just had to write that. Anyway I do happen to agree that different people frequent different forums. However if it were solely a brake or engine related topic I would go look for it in those forums, but those that do not frequent that forum have experience too. I have no problem double posting.

Matt-
I posted in BOTH forums trying to get infor on what to buy/stay away from. I am on the Exterior forum often, but like I said, there are forums that members don't really overlap. There's tons of "Paint" oriented posts that may detract regulars from going there. I thought someone on this forum MAY have used the hidden hinges.

I'll get over it, its just annoying that an AUTOMOTIVE post gets dumped.

I dumped it.

No double posting, as referenced in the Guidelines, viewable from the link in my signature. I've recently formalized the Guidelines, so I know everyone hasn't had a chance to review them yet.

Here's a quote from the Placing Questions in the Proper Forum sub-heading of our Guidelines:
Quote:

Please don't post the same topic in multiple forums. Choose one forum in which to post your question.

Obviously, some topics can reasonably be placed in multiple forums. For example, a question about a steering wheel could go in the Suspension-Brakes-Steering forum, or in the Interior forum. In such a situation, just make a judgement call as to where you think your question would best belong.
Making the same post in multiple forums is a very bad organizational tactic. If one person were allowed to do it, then anyone could do it, whenever they wanted. Conversations would become fragmented and disjointed, and the very fabric of the space-time continuum would tear itself asunder, leaving us to fend for ourselves in a universe devoid of shape and meaning.

You make a very good case for this particular instance of double-posting. Nevertheless, the rule is in place as an *overall* method of organization. It won't apply perfectly to every situation, but *overall*, it is very reasonable.

Hope this makes sense. Let me know if not, and I'll be happy to explain further.

Heck, I'm married. I'm used to that stuff. :D

No further explanation needed. No one responded, so apparently no one knows.

I'll try elsewhere..
