Widest Tire Size

Does anyone know what the largest tire width you can fit in an 87 Monte Carlo SS without modifications? And will a 195/60/15 tire fit on a 7 inch rim for my front tires. i did the conversion and it comes out to 7.7 inches wide.

My son has an '85 MCSS, the widest tires (that look good) are 275's on 8 1/2" rims with 4.5" backspacing. Any wider and they'll be out side the fender.

Wheel & Tire Calculator

Take a look at the Wheel & Tire Calculators at this web page.
They are defaulted to Tri Five Chevies, but you can change the dimensions to match your vehicle.
