Width of an original Model A rear end?

Anybody happen to know the width of an orginal Model A rear end (1931)? I am exploring various widths to use with 15 x 7 rear wheels.

I think the width from the mounting surface of the brake drum to the mounting surface of the opposite brake drum is 56".

Without removing the wheels I just took some pics of the rear axle of my stock 1931 Ford Roadster. Below are some pics. I did place one end of a tape measure at the center of the driver's side rear tire and took a shot of the measurement at the center of the passenger side rear tire. It showed 56". I also measure from the end of the banjo housing to the opposite side (basically backing plate to backing plate) and the measurement was approximately 52".

Left click on the pics for a larger view. The one pic is blurry but doable I hope.
