will 351c heads work on a 400m

Hi my name is Andrew i just got a '79 ford f-150 4x4 with a c-6 and a 400m ford a play/project truck i have been reading some of the posts about the 400m and im not going to change it out for a 429/460 just yet. it is stock other than a set of headmen headers it runs good but not good enough yet i just want to make a Little bit more power out of it. I have a blowen 351c it has a 4v intake and good heads i just had them done and i don't want to take the 400 a part if they wont work on it and feel free to give advice on cheap/easy things to do to it and i will also be putting a cam in it soon to so if any one knows of some good cam grinds for low to mid power range. im juts looking for any thing that will wake up this old truck. thanks

To use the 351C 4 barrel heads and intake on your 400 you will need to use some intake spacers.

Open chamber 335 series heads don't like compression, the heads try to create two flame fronts which makes them detonation prone. The best thing you could do to increase compression on your 400 is to find a set of Australian closed chamber two barrel heads. Then you can bolt on a after market four barrel intake manifold for a 351M-400 without using the spacers and a 351C intake.
