Will any other headers work on chevy s10 v8 besides swap headers?

Hi guys I was wondering if anyone out there has experience or know's of another type of header besides the v8 swap headers will fit a 350 in a chevy s10? Mine is a 96 and was looking at full size truck headers and was wondering if they might fit between the steering column and cylinder head with no issues. I currently have flotech shorty's and they suck. They have really big elongated bolt holes and eventually they will start to leak and they don't fit as good as the headman ones do.

I know tight tuck headers won't work cause of the cross member. Any help or input would help me. I will get a set of headman shorty's if need be since they are better made then the flotech ones but would like to get something for a 350 to give a little better spark plug clearance. Would like a short style type header.
Thanks
Eric

I have a set of the headman headers (shorties, trucks lowered and full wouldn't fit) they cost a bit, but are worth it, 2+ years and the flange has yet to leak, the collectors are a gasketless ball n' socket type fit, using 2 crushed lock nuts per bolt, i have gotten those to seal up for over a year now, no leaks... when i was looking for exhaust options while the swap was going, the options were limited to 89-98 firebird/camaro with 305 or swap headers, but hooker or hadman mad a set of long tube, for stock height or higher trucks, (possibly first gen. only reccomended) with a cable gear selector automatic trans only. Summit racing had them, check there, if they are available still they are going to be there. hope I helped somewhat.

Yeah I know what you mean for options. I had a full length set one time but they warped at the middle section cause they come apart in pieces. I will probably just get the headman shorties then and also on the ball socket hookup on my exhaust its just a normal flange type hookup will my headmans just bolt right up to it? Mine flotech headers just has the standard flange with gasket hookup but the headman has the ball and socket type flange and I am worried it won't just bolt up to my exhaust like it is and not have to worry about using the collectors that come with the headman's. Thanks for help and hopefully you can answer that one. Take care
Eric

Your exhaust flange that matches up to your Flowtech headers won't just bolt to the Hedman ball flange. You will have to add the Hedman supplied flange to your current pipe system.
