You're right. Zinc phosphate works really well in conjunction with this particular coating. Here in New Jersey were not known for patience so I decided I would create a prep that actually contains zinc and was aggressive. I hate rus,t I like to think of this as my private stock. I'm an avid metal prep fan. When we painted cars with lacquer if you didn't use the acid etch the longevity of the paint job, was dramatically shortened And you're also right that some of these acid concoctions, especially like hydrochloric when not used properly can cause problems DeadBodyMan, if you behave yourself I might share a little bit of my private stock. PM me with an address

Pat, I can certainly use some pointers about acid prep because clearly I haven't a clue. Case in point: Last summer I attempted to repaint the trailer hitch on my '95 Tahoe. It was very badly rusted, so I wire brushed it as best I could and then soaked it in Muriatic acid over night. In the morning, to my horror, I discovered the skeletal remains of what was once a perfectly serviceable Class III hitch. Seriously...apart from the inch or two that was sticking out, there was little left except a bucket of orange liquid. Live and learn. Anyway, I bought a new hitch and already it needs priming and painting. Your zinc primer sounds interesting. Think it would be suitable for my hitch?

muriatic acid is a no no, but like you say live and learn.yes, we can try out the zinc rich epoxy on your new hitch. As you know the back part of the vehicle takes the worst abuse. Your wheel wells, hitches, Nerf bars all take a beating.a new system is been brought to my attention. It's a combo and I would like to see how it holds up over the winter. PM me and will discuss this further.

But leave the razor...otherwise you won't have any hope of ever getting that other arm pit looking like the shaved one.
