Heresy!

J/K!

Sounds like a lot of trouble if you ask me, everything would have to be fabricated from the motor mounts up and it's value would be zero to anyone else.

Ford does make big blocks too you know?

I think doing that is illegal in some states. Man 79 Bronco, 69 Caddy, and a 68 Impala? You own a lot of cars dude.

302 to a 472

Save your self a lot of time and effort and get a better engine. Just drop a 460 Ford in it instead. This will require using a transmission and engine mounts that are used with the 351M/400 and the 429/460L blocks, which are readily available, and sould be a legal swap in all but the most communist of states since the 79 Ford pickups did come with the 460 in them.

A 472 is not that hard to find parts for, heck there are even places producing new heads for them now. Not that you really need them with the heads you have now, but just to point out something.

I posted some caddy links awhile back, just do a search and the post should pop up. On the boards I linked to there are links to suppliers.

But I probably would go with a 460 myself.

1. if you "f'ing hate fords" why do you own one
2. Try a 390 ford i believe it will give you everything out of your motor you want

302-472

Sheesh I hate having to repeat myself. The most plentiful engine would have to be a 460, and you can get all the stuff you need for the swap from your local recycler. Just remember to include the transmission if your running automatic, or a bellhousing and flywheel if your running a stick. Better yet, how about putting a good stump pulling 460 into your Chevy and have a real standout vehicle. Why be a clone?
