Will Ford 460 Billet HEI Distributor fit a 390 FE??
Need a little help from you Ford experts!
 Will a Ford 351C/460 Billet HEI Distributor fit (or be made fit) and work (or be made to work) on a 1963 Ford 390 FE?  When I ask; "..be made to fit/work?" - I'm referring to something like a minor  change to clear an interference, change the drive gear or some relatively simple wiring.  thanx, texastomeh

call autozone
call a reliable parts house and see if they swap out to the same
just get them to pull up parts number to see if they match

I am no expert but I do know this...the 390 is a different engine family from the 460. The 390 is an FE motor in the same family as the 360, 427 and 428 (and I think the 352). Ask the manufacturer and you might find that they are interchangeable.

 THAT is the definitive answer that I was looking for! It is not the ONE that I wanted, but at least now I believe that I know for certain.  It is not that I don't appreciate you other guys' recommendations, but that was the very problem - I got different answers from different parts guys!  texastomeh
