I offered to trailor a friends car to a Pa enhanced insp station to go thru the rigamorel of getting street rod plates. In Pa if the exaust is outside of the frame they must be wrapped (for the pics to be sent to the state) He is afraid that if he runs the car at all with the wrap on that it will discolor his silver jet-hot headers. Anyone have any experience with this predickament?
He wants to push it on the trailor and mine has pretty steep ramps and is not an easy job

Use a winch. I dont know if it will discolor it but i would worry too. That's a stupid rule.

He should move to Florida! I drive around on slicks. Anyway, can you wrap them, send the pictures then UNWRAP them before he starts the car? I have never heard of a law like that before.

It won't hurt a thing to just fire it and pull it on the trailer ....and then shut it off.

Your friend needs to go the Antique tag route instead of Street Rod. All you have to do is send pics of a stock version of the car. The Antique tag is a Lifetime tag and needs no inspection. I have a pro street Camaro & several of my friends also have used this info to get the tag. I live in Southern Pa. have been stopped by police and never had an issue with tags. Good luck.

His car and mine are both fenderless hot rods. We both want to be Pa legal,because SOMEDAY (and it will happen) the Gestapo is going to realize how much $$$ can be made for the state by Pulling over cars that are readily recognizable as to being tagged wrong. Someone told me that recently they did this at the Wexford cruise and tilt-bedded some to an impound yard
