i need to get my heater hose away from my fuel line, so i was gonna put a 90 degree NPT to AN fitting in the intake...and use a 180 degree hose end to AN fitting. My question is, will the 5/8 hose that im using now, fit snug in the hose end for the 10 AN? i want to stick with just the rubber hose instead of steel braided or the nylon braided. i know that 5/8 converts to 10AN, but im not sure if it is a perfect match.

I went to an 18 wheeler parts place. They have a 90 degree brass fitting (male/female) that will screw righ into the intake. Aim it towards the front of the engine and put a short galvanized nipple and 90 deg elbow in it. Then screw a rad hose nipple into the elbow. I think it was about 8 bucks.

i just wanted to make sure the hose would fit in the 180 degree fitting snug and not leak coolant.

Use this type of fitting with standard hose. You can use a hose clamp if necessary

i guess that would work...i was trying to eliminate the hose clamp though.
