will i be okay with 2 crossmember bolts

finally got my rebuilt th400 in my buick regal. my question is i have one crossmember bolt bolted on each side and one nut bolted in the middile for the transmission mount. will i be okay running it like this or do i need a new crossmember. i cant bolt two bolts on each side because the crossmember hangs off the frame for each bolt thats not bolted on both sides

Do you think GM wastes money installing bolts that aren't needed?

I'm guessing that you have a pre-1983 Regal? These cars were built before the 200-4R and as you've found don't have the proper mounting location for the crossmember when moved rearward. Summit and others sell adapter plates to allow you to properly bolt up the crossmember. Otherwise, at some point you'll be picking your trans up off the street.
