will more cooler air help make more horsepower????
<--------on my nova were i got the hood cut out to clear my stacks when i close it,i was wondering ,jegs sells a plate that goes under the air cleaners with a thick peace of foam going all the way around the edge of the plate, and when you close the hood, the foam seals on the bottom of the hood, and the only air getting to the carbs is threw the hood scoop. would this help with horsepower??

I agree i don't know if it will make you huge horsepower gains but it is with out a doubt better.

Yes cooler air will "allow" you to make more power. In order to take advantage of the cooler air you need to adjust your fuel mixture accordingly. You are not going to gain 50HP if that's what you're wondering. In a drag race application we are talking "maybe" a tenth or two depending on the setup. If your engine compartment traps a lot of heat you will see more gains from the cooler/fresh air (with the crab tray/seal you are talking about).
