Will not run

I had to pull head off 94 G30 chevy van for alternator bolt broke in head. Got all back together and it will not start. I did check the firing order and tdc all the same time. Some time it will spit and spudder when i hold my foot to the floor. So i am at the end of the rope Help.

re: Will not run

You most likely have the distributor in wrong or it is just a bit out of time.
1 Pull the # 1 spark plug.
2 Put finger over hole and have someone bump the key.
3 When you feel it trying to blow out your finger, bring the timing marks up to
TDC or 0 depending on how it is marked
4 Find the number one wire on the cap and mark its location on the
distributor housing
5 Remove distributor cap, the rotor should be pointing at your mark you made
for the #1 wire
6 If not pull the distributor and get it lined up

It should be close enough to get it to start and adjust the timing at this point. You may need to play with the distributor while cranking to get it to fire.

I dont understand what you are asking, step 3 is getting the timing mark on the damper lined up and 4 is marking the distributor before you pull the cap

re: Will not run

I think he means holding his finger over the hole while cranking the engine!

will not start

I have done all of the above. I have pulled the spark plug out i can turn motor and cover the #1 plug at the same time. I have checked the morm. balance with my mark and move the dist. to the sparkplug wire to #1 spot. Other then taking my 50 caliber rifle and shot it i am lost to this point.
