steering boxes

If they look the same and line up to the same bolt holes. It is ok. The steering lock to lock may have a different ratio but thats ok. The pitman arm may be different. Even if they are the same length. Measure the heighth. They come with different angles. You may have to use the original pitman arm.

For eg;
A steering box for an s-10 will bolt into a Malibu but because of the gear ratio. You need to turn the steering wheel further to turn the car. So it feels a little sloppy driving in a straight line.

You steering radius will increase because the later box has different internal stops in it. Otherwise it fits. The stops can be changed, but it's a major undertaking that requires complete dissassembly of the box.

The hose fittings are probably different, but adapters are available.
