Post will the rear end out of a '65 chevelle fit a '72

I am looking at buying a 10 bolt rearend out of a 65 chevelle but Im not sure if it will fit in my '72 chevelle. Any info you fellow rodders could give a newbie would be great.

If this one wont fit do you know what other doner cars would be a direct bolt in, maybe I could get one with disk breaks

65 rear will bolt in the same way except on the early chevelle rears,the coil springs were bolted to the rear compared to the later model rears which have the spring just setting on a spring tower,Just use the early bolts and washers. You can get a larger tire under your car with the early rear,they are about 1" narrower than the 68-72 chevelle rear ends.If you want rear disc,I have heard of guys using the late 70"s cad. sevile rear disc brake calipers and purchase late 70's firebird rear rotors,just about a bolt in deal.Good Luck

IT DAWNED ON ME THAT THIS IS GOING TO BE BEHIND A 454, DO YOU GUYS THINK THAT THIS REAR END WILL BE STRONG ENOUGH TO HANDLE THE HORSEPOWER.
