will a Trans AM differential work in a g-body rear end?

the differential has 26 spline axles and is a 7.5 ring gear

its the same guts (axle spline count might be different) but a g body is a coil spring car and firebird are a leaf spring car. if the width is the same you could mod one to fit but probably wouldnt be worth the work.


not sure what you classify as differential or rear end but the cairiers are the same. i beleive 28 spline axles exist so if you run into that then you need to use your old spider gears.

its just the differential, no housing or anything.

yes i mean carrier,oops. he said he was running 26 pline axles.

i think the 28s were on the s10's im sure if i looked it up i would know for sure but it sounds like you got it figured.

if its a transam you should buy his rear disc brakes and backing plates
