Willys dashboard defrosters

Hi........Im a new guy on here and i hope you can assist me in my little problem.....I have a fiberglass dashboard in my 41 Willy's and it has 4 slots on top 2 on each side for my defrosters......My problem is there are 4 holes pre drilled 2 on each side that are 5 1/2 inches apart exactly.....Does anyone know who the Mfg. of this dash could be or any ideas to get deflector covers that would fit and also look neat.....Thanks for your help......Dan

Dan,
When I was building my 51 Willys PU, I put a Vintage Air Conditioning unit in it that had Heat, Air and Defrost. It came with defroster ducts that fit perfectly in the dash defroster area. Just used the original pre-drilled dash holes as a guide and drilled the tabs on the new defroster deflectors and I was good to go. So, you might want to check with some of the A/C companies to see what kind of molded deflectors the offer and see what can be adapted. Mine only had one slot per side but since yours has two slots per side you may have to use two deflectors per side and use a "Y" connector down-stream. Drop me a line if you need any more assistance.

I also used the Vintage Air ac/heat/def unit on my fiberglass dash. I didn't like the cheap plastic defrost grills that came with the unit so I purchased two billet aluminum grills from Vintage Air.

Here is what I did on my friend's stock steel '37 Willys dash. I cut slits in the top of the removable instrument center section of the dash. Then I hammered louvers in the sheet metal aimed at the windshield. finally I made a couple of hose adapter/distribution nozzles from sheet metal and mounted them on the back side of the slots. You can see the two slots above the instruments and below the chrome windshield molding.
