I have a small block chevy in my 1956 Willys Wagon, it is attatched to the original borg warner t-90 trans and original transfer case. I recently cracked my trans house. I have a muncie 4 spd that would bolt up to that motor, but would my 4spd chevy trans hook up to my t/case?
I had the SBC, T 90, T case with a Studebaker rear wheels only overdrive in my jeepster. We sold the jeep stuff and went with a $ 150 rusted out Blazer, (no engine), for the newer, stronger parts. A lot of work. but now have front Discs, power steering, a lot stronger trans and T case. axles etc, I have seen old jeepsters and pickups that used the divorced transfer case mounted on a home made crosmember and new drive shafts. One had an older dodge div /T case. then you can run any engine trans you can fit under the hood. If you are lifted very high the drive shaft angles get steep.
According to my boss George, you can call advance adapters; this is one of the first products they made. Id also check Novak. As with a lot of the AA stuff, you may have to slightly modify the plate to get everything to line up properly
