Willys Wagon, or Willys Panel!?

I have an all original 1962 Willys Overland 4x4 Wagon. Straight 6/226 3 spd. 4:56 gear ratio. I love the truck to death, but I feel bad goin wheeling with it. If I hit a tree, there goes an original fender etc.

So I have been looking and found a 1956 Willys Panel Wagon 4x4. The hard work has been done (Leaf over axel, body work, v8 conversion) It has a 283, with 327 crank and heads with a cam. It is in primer as you can tell.

The thing is, I dont know what to do. Sell my safetied 62 and buy a 56 panel project. The panel truck will need wiring, rims/tires and odds and ends to be street legal. Any thoughts, which one is worth more, which one is nicer looking?

I like the delivery doors on panels and the windows on wagons. you can put the delivery door on a wagon pretty easily also. Been there, done that.

I thought you guys used dog sled up there.LOL

I would keep both, one to take out and try not to hit trees, the other finish, use on the street. Can have your cake and eat it too.

i too favor keeping both of them
but if you have to choose get rid of the wife/girlfriend/mom who is making you choose

both have cool factor, but thru the yrs i have seen many willys wagons
i have never seen a willys panel, for that reason alone i'd fix up the panel first

keep it stock looking on the outside and total custom inside and under the hood

Update

Hey guys, heres some more pics. So I sold my 1962 w/6 cylinder for $3,000. Bought this 56 for $1,800. It has a 283 w/327 heads, crank, and a big cam. Fresh motor with about 10 miles on it. I replaced the front wheel cylinders and have been driving it for 10 days without any problems. Going for a safety tomorrow! As far as paint, I lured my buddies into my shop with pizza and we sanded the entire truck to bare metal. Went to canadian tire and spent $125 in spray paint and primer. I have a set of 33" baja claws I will put on tomorrow. Already has a few battle wounds from trees, but hey! Shes a 4x4!

I will be posting some videos of her on youtube. If any of you care to hear her, or see her run check it out, There are a few up right now.
