I have a kwiklift car lift in my garage and need to pull a non-running car up on to it. The lift is about 20" high on the high end and about 15' long'
I have a 3500# car that rolls but does not run.
What I was thinking of is buying a harbor freight 12v winch 5000# and anchoring it to the concrete floor under my bench at the one end of my garage and using a short towing strap and the winch cable to pull it up and down the ramp.
Has anybody done this for the kwiklift system ? any other suggestions ?

I have a tilt bed trailer and all I use is a boat winch to load a car..that winch you mention should work fine..if you double the cable and use a snatch block that will help alot but I do not think you will need it..

We winched a ford E250 van onto a trailer using a 2000 lb Horror Fright winch. Had to run a double line to it half way up, but it worked. I was impressed. I bought one for my trailer when they went on sale for $65.00.

I have seen Kwiklifts at the car shows, but am not familiar with the 'feet' on the high end. I assume there are rubber feet to keep it from scooting on the floor when you drive up (or winch up in your case). If that's correct, you should be fine, the winch should be strong enough. We have used one several times to load/unload my sedan onto a trailer (before it was running).
If it doesn't have rubber feet, or something to keep it from sliding, you might be better attaching the winch to the front (high end) of the kwiklift itself, instead of the floor in front of it.
