Post Windage Trays, do they work?

I am currently rebuilding my 406 sbc and was thinking about putting a good windage tray on it with ARP main studs. Nothing except the block and the waterpump are stock on the motor so I was wondering if the tray would be good insurance. I have a Milidon 7 quart street and strip pan with a Milodan pickup and Mehling high volume pump. Milodan claims adding a windage tray to my combination could add as much as 20 horsepower. Any insight would be helpful.

I dont know about a 20 horse increase but it helps to keep your crank out of the oil. If your rebuilding the motor I would put it in but I would'nt tear it down to install one.

I have a SBC 406 with the windage tray. As for 20 HP, I doubt it. But it does stop the oil from slopping around.
I would have to agree with the above post, don't tear it down to put it in, but if you are already at it...go for it.
