Windlace after headliner?
Ok I am in the putting it back together stage on my 54 dodge. Seems there are some things you need to do before others, and some you should, and some you can do before.
I am waiting to put my windshield and back glass until I put in my headliner. Headliner is waiting on insulation that I just ordered.
The problem windlace. I have not decided on my side panels and would like to hold off on the windlace until I do. The headliner is held on the sides with some real aggressive screw in tracks with teeth. I suppose ideally I would put down the windlace all around the doors then put on the headliner.
Could I put the headliner in and push the windlace in when I am ready with the side panels? Most of the places for the windlace will still be reachable with the liner on, but the top and down the back door may not be, and would have to be pushed in with something like a bondo spreader to get them secured.
No, it won't work that way. The windlace has to go on first before the headliner because it needs to be solidly fastened. The gripper strips for the headliner don't hold the windlace, it is stapled or tacked on.
