Baily, I'm no expert on this, but I've taken off a tint job once before. Let me tell you that it sure was a pain in the a**, at least the way I did it. I started by peeling off a corner at the top with a razor blade, and from there I took a heat gun and slowly peeled it off. I don't know if this is the "correct" way to do it but it worked, and I didn't use any solvent except for a little carb cleaner sprayed onto a rag to get the little stickey parts off. Good luck.

You may want to consider putting a clear or very light tint back on, why? because I don't know if 1956 trucks have decent safety glass. It will keep the glass shards out of your eyes in case of an crash

They make a spray that will loosed the tints clue. All you have to do is spray the tint with the liquid tint remover. Let sit for a minute and the tint will scrape right off.....No harsh chemicals and works great..... You can buy the tint removing spray at Kragens for less than $10.00 bucks.....

My friend had his window out of the car when we were restoring it and we soaked it with gasoline and lit it on fire that stuff melted like sandwich rap into a little ball. After it cooled we pulled it off and that was that.

No it was a 65 bug rear window. It didn't have any defroster lines if that makes any difference.
