windsheild removal

can you remove the windshield from an 57 olds with the chrome trim still in place? also can the dash be removed,it would be easier to work on if it was out? Help please. Doc

I am 99% sure that the trim will have to be taken off before the windshield can be removed considering youll have to break the adhesive seal. Not sure about the dash though..... .....tried a hammer

57 Olds would not be a glue in. They use a rubber gasket and the stainless trim fits in a groove in the rubber. All the old rubber set glass I've done required the trim be in place. The inner lip seal is what holds the glass in.

I don't know about the removability of the dash. A friend of mine had a 57 Olds hardtop. Tough car, couldn't kill it..
