Post Windsheild Wipers & Arms for 54 Chevy Pickup

I'm having a hard time getting new wipers for my truck. I'm not sure what the deal is, but the wiper on the passenger side wants to be about a half-inch shorter than the driver side wiper. Any ideas what could cause this? The wiper arms I have are adjustable so it's not a real big deal ... BUT I am having a problem finding new wiper blades that'll mount on these arms. The 12-inch blades I have are shot and just make a mess in the rain.

Anybody know where I might get a new set of adjustable arms & blades? I've tried calling all the usual Chevy places like Chevy Duty, Jim Carter, Old Chevy Trucks, etc. - no help.

Or, any cool ideas? I was thinking of marrying the end of a new set of arms to my old adjustable arms so I can install the new blades. I was also thinking of taking the rubber blades from a new set and trying to slip them into my old blade-holders, but they aren't always built the same.

THANKS.

I just buy refills for a newer car and slide them into the holders. The new refills have an extra design on the top that I have to remove with my cutter but it only takes a few minutes to complete both wipers. Take your old wiper into the part store and look over the refills for some that will slide into your old holder.

Thanks, Joe!

I was wondering if that might be an option. Are you referring to just the rubber with it's thin metal strip? Or are you talking about the wiper with it's whole spring assembly, etc.?
